Hello and Welcome!

Hello everybody and thank you so much for visiting my brand new blog 'A Little Bit of Glitter in the Grey'! I am a dramatic teenager who lives in the UK and has a passion for writing, talking and just generally communicating my thoughts to literally anyone who will listen. And now you are the lucky ones! I have been thinking about creating a blog for a while now but I recently decided to just take the plunge and jump right in and think about the consequences later!

In this blog I plan to talk about a little bit of everything, it will basically be a mashup of whatever I am feeling the day that I write with maybe a few rants thrown in there for fun. I will try to post as often as I can, maybe expect a post once or twice a week at first and we will see how I go!

The first thing that I think I should talk about is the name of my blog and why I chose it. Lets start at the very beginning as it is a very good place to start ((If you get the reference then I love you)). There is currently a musical in the West End which my family is obsessed with after seeing it earlier this year.... Everybody's Talking About Jamie! Oh My God if you have not seen it you are missing out my friend! It is the perfect mix of funny, heart wrenching and downright adorable and we just loved it. Anyway, in this fantastic musical there was a song called 'It Means Beautiful' which is honestly a beautiful song about appreciating the beauty in the world and in your lives. In this song one of the lyrics is 'a little bit of glitter in the grey' about being the light that you want to see in the world (or at least that is how I interpreted it) which really resonated with me. So when it came to choosing a name for my blog and my Mum suggested that, I knew it was perfect.

This is the Jamie poster and I've linked the spotify album- I really recommend giving the music a listen to if you cant make it to see the show or even if you have and you want to have a dance party!

My hope for this blog is that it will become your little bit of glitter in a normally dull and cruel world, a place for you to come when you are having a bad time, a safe space of my own creation where you are very welcome to come and let off some steam when you need to. I will be happy to respond to comments and give my support when needed- who knows I could even be a kind of online older sister!
